Routing is task-aware: casual chat is short-circuited to a cheaper default, while coding, agent, and tool-using requests are the ones that actually trigger the full panel, so the ensemble overhead only shows up where a second opinion is most likely to pay off.

Practically, Fusion Mini is aimed at workloads where being wrong is more expensive than spending extra completions: deep reasoning, hard coding, research synthesis, and expert critique. The vendor positions it as a rebuild of a prior capability tier after that offering was pulled, framed as a way to recover that level of quality by composing currently available frontier models rather than waiting for a new checkpoint, and explicitly advertises a long context window for ingesting large research or code bases.
