Model details

GLM-5.3

GLM-5.3 represents a deliberate departure from large base-model retraining toward aggressive post-training scale. The model reuses the same base as its predecessor and instead invests compute in a long-horizon training stack built around three components: IndexShare for efficient long-context processing, SAO for reinforcement learning on long-horizon tasks, and slime for large-scale asynchronous training. This pipeline runs against accumulated task environments, with the team steadily expanding environment diversity, task variety, and training compute over a month of iteration.

The practical result is a coder-leaning model with notable gains on complex programming and agentic workflows. Reported improvements include a 50 percent gain over the previous release on an in-house coding benchmark, plus open-source state-of-the-art results on Terminal Bench 3.0 and Agents' Last Exam. Cyber capability also emerged faster than expected during post-training scaling, with state-of-the-art performance on CyberGym for vulnerability discovery and the largest relative gains higher up the exploitation chain. Combined with a very large context window, GLM-5.3 is well suited to long-running development sessions and tool-using agent pipelines that demand sustained reasoning across extended task sequences.
