sonar-pro

Sonar Pro serves as the enhanced tier within the search-augmented model family, specifically engineered to handle queries that require extensive cross-referencing and synthesis. While it shares the same foundational architecture as the base Sonar model, it distinguishes itself by retrieving and processing a significantly larger volume of web sources per inference call. This design intent makes it particularly effective for tasks such as analyzing regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions, comparing technical frameworks, or conducting market research that demands a broad evidence base. By weighing conflicting information from more candidate sources, the model produces longer, more nuanced responses backed by richer citation coverage.

Built to support extended research sessions, the model leverages a 200,000-token context window to maintain coherence during multi-turn conversations and complex, multi-step inquiries. Its practical strength lies in its ability to deliver comprehensive, grounded answers without requiring external search configuration, maintaining a streamlined developer experience that allows for easy integration. As a non-reasoning model, it is optimized for high-performance information retrieval and synthesis, making it a robust choice for enterprise applications that prioritize depth, accuracy, and detailed source attribution in their automated research workflows.
