Google announced Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, 2026, making the model globally available for developers and enterprises via the API in AI Studio and the Gemini platform, for Google AI Ultra subscribers in Antigravity, and for AI Ultra and Pro subscribers in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. Koray Kavukcuoglu, SVP at Google DeepMind and Chief AI Architect, framed the launch as giving broad access to Google's latest frontier model. Google positions Gemini 4 Argon for deep, multi-step work across coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity, and science, claiming it ranks #1 on the Vals Index benchmark. The model launches at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached inputs at 95% off. Internally, Argon in Antigravity reportedly boosted agentic code submissions by over 35% while reducing code rollbacks by nearly a third, and helped Chrome complete a major architectural refactor across hundreds of files in weeks rather than months.
