The Chinese artificial intelligence startup has now released DeepSeek-V3.2-Exp, an experimental version of its current model DeepSeek-V3.1-Terminus.
Model details
DeepSeek V3.1 Terminus serves as a highly stable iteration of the V3 architecture, designed to provide a more reliable experience for complex agentic workflows. As a large hybrid reasoning model featuring 671 billion parameters with 37 billion active parameters, it is engineered to excel in tasks requiring deep analytical capabilities, such as code generation and research-oriented search. The model is built to support both thinking and non-thinking modes, allowing users to toggle reasoning behavior based on the specific demands of their project, whether they are performing creative writing or executing structured tool calls.
The development of this model focused on refining the base V3.1 foundation through a two-phase long-context training process that enables it to handle up to 128,000 tokens effectively. By addressing user-reported feedback regarding language consistency and reducing mixed-language output, the model offers a more polished performance for international applications. It utilizes FP8 microscaling to maintain efficient inference speeds, making it a practical choice for developers building high-performance coding or search agents. With support for customization through techniques like LoRA, it is well-positioned for specialized research and enterprise-grade agentic deployments.
