Nano Banana Pro Preview

Nano Banana Pro sits inside Google's Gemini 3 Pro family of generative models and is positioned as a multimodal image-creation model that accepts text and image inputs and produces both text and image outputs. The Google AI for Developers image-generation page frames the Nano Banana line as a prompt-to-prototype creative tool, showcasing sample outputs such as magazine layouts, scene restorations, and stylized everyday scenes generated directly from text prompts, which signals an intended use case around UI-complete app mockups, design ideation, and rapid visual prototyping inside the broader Gemini ecosystem.

In practical use, Nano Banana Pro is exposed through the Google Gemini API surface and is also surfaced inside the consumer Gemini app, where at least one Google Workspace admin reported in February 2026 that image outputs from the model were capped at roughly 2K resolution despite the underlying model being capable of higher. Google's documentation for Gemini image generation simultaneously promotes a newer "Nano Banana the listed price" successor and recommends the generally available Interactions API as the preferred entry point for accessing the latest image-generation features, which is relevant context for teams choosing where to integrate Nano Banana Pro today versus planning around the next iteration.
