Nano Banana Pro (Vertex AI)

Nano Banana Pro serves as the internal codename for Google Gemini 3 Pro Image, an image generation model accessible through the Vertex AI platform alongside AI Studio. The two Vertex AI and AI Studio invocations of the same underlying model diverge in architecture, quality parameters, and API formats, which means outputs and behaviors can differ depending on which Google surface issues the request. Its design centers on producing high-resolution images with crisp embedded text, photorealistic detail in lighting and color, and SynthID pixel-level watermarking for copyright protection.

In real-world testing reported by third-party developers, Vertex AI calls to Nano Banana Pro produce 4K outputs at roughly 18 MB for the same prompt that AI Studio delivers as a file just a few megabytes, reflecting platform-specific rendering pipelines rather than model capability gaps. The model supports up to 4096 by 4096 pixel outputs and is intended for workflows that demand legible in-image text and photorealistic styling, while integration teams should weigh Vertex AI's higher-fidelity asset size against AI Studio's leaner payloads.
