Nova Micro

Amazon Nova Micro belongs to the Amazon Nova family of foundation models, a line that an independent timeline article describes as built by Amazon and offered exclusively through Amazon Bedrock. The family has been formally documented in an Amazon-authored technical report and model card titled "The Amazon Nova Family of Models: Technical Report and Model Card," indexed on Semantic Scholar under arXiv DOI 10.48550/arXiv.2506.12103 with a large Amazon-affiliated author list. That report serves as the authoritative creator-side reference for the architecture and design choices across Nova variants, situating Nova Micro within a broader lineage of Amazon-developed text and multimodal models intended for cloud-hosted inference rather than direct download.

Within that family, Nova Micro is positioned as a compact, text-oriented variant suited to cost-sensitive, high-throughput workloads routed through Amazon Bedrock, where the broader Nova line has been evolving through capability additions such as multimodal input, expanded context length, tool use, and agentic workflows. The technical report and the Bedrock-focused release timeline together indicate an emphasis on practical enterprise integration, with Nova variants designed to plug into Bedrock's region availability and cross-region inference rather than to be deployed independently. This makes Nova Micro a reasonable fit for teams already standardized on Bedrock who need a lightweight Amazon-built model for everyday language tasks, with the fuller Nova technical report serving as the primary resource for deeper architecture and evaluation details.
