Seed 2.0 Pro

Seed 2.0 Pro is the flagship member of ByteDance's Seed 2.0 family of large language models, a multimodal foundation lineup released on February 14, 2026 by the ByteDance Seed team. Within the family it sits above the Lite and Mini variants, with ByteDance positioning it as the option for high-complexity, high-value professional work where the strongest reasoning and intelligence ceiling matter more than throughput or cost. The wider Seed 2.0 family already backs ByteDance products such as Doubao, which the launch announcement describes as serving hundreds of millions of users, giving the Pro tier a lineage grounded in large-scale real-world deployment rather than a purely research-stage release.

ByteDance has framed Seed 2.0 Pro for tasks that combine reasoning depth with multimodal input, including multi-step planning, visual-text reasoning, video understanding, and other long-horizon analyses where stable performance across many turns is critical. Its intended fit is agent-style workflows and advanced analytical applications where a single model needs to ingest rich inputs and sustain coherent, structured reasoning over extended sessions. For teams choosing among the Seed 2.0 variants, the practical takeaway is that Pro targets the hardest, most consequential jobs, while Lite balances performance against running cost and Mini emphasizes low-latency, high-concurrency serving for lighter interactive use cases.
