Seed 2.0 Mini

Seed 2.0 Mini is the lightweight member of ByteDance's Seed 2.0 large language model family, which was released on February 14, 2026 as the company's next-generation multimodal foundation lineup. The series consists of three general-purpose Agent variants—Pro, Lite, and Mini—alongside a separate Code model, with Mini positioned specifically as the fast-response, high-throughput option for latency-sensitive applications. Both the Seed 2.0 Pro and Mini sit within a family designed for large-scale production deployment, featuring multimodal understanding, efficient reasoning, and complex instruction execution, and the family already serves hundreds of millions of users through ByteDance products such as Doubao.

Within that family, Seed 2.0 Mini is framed as the "lightweight pioneer," aimed at scenarios that demand quick responses and high concurrency rather than the deep-reasoning ceiling targeted by Seed 2.0 Pro or the balanced general-purpose role assigned to Seed 2.0 Lite. This makes Mini a practical fit for routine agentic workloads where throughput and responsiveness matter more than maximum intelligence, while still benefiting from the family's multimodal and instruction-following capabilities. Choosing Mini therefore trades peak reasoning for operational efficiency, complementing the Pro and Lite siblings in a tiered deployment strategy across the Seed 2.0 lineup.
