Amazon Bedrock
Amazon, following Google and Microsoft, reassures customers that Anthropic's AI models will remain available for non-defense related workloads despite recent federal restrictions.
Model details
Claude Sonnet 4.5 sits in the middle of Anthropic's Claude family, positioned between the lighter Haiku tier and the heavier Opus tier, and it is offered through Amazon Bedrock as a managed foundation model. Anthropic designed this generation to balance strong reasoning with practical coding ability, and the model has been adopted for enterprise workloads where sustained analytical thinking and developer-oriented tasks matter most. Its placement on Bedrock means teams can integrate it through AWS-native tooling while relying on Anthropic's underlying alignment work, which has emphasized helpful, harmless, and honest responses across a wide range of professional scenarios.
Since its initial release, Bedrock has expanded access to Claude Sonnet 4.5 in notable ways. Global cross-region inference now routes requests across additional geographies such as the Middle East, including UAE (me-central-1) and Bahrain (me-south-1), giving organizations more options for latency-sensitive and data-residency-aware deployments. AWS also raised default quotas for the model in AWS GovCloud (US), supporting larger public-sector and regulated workloads. Looking forward, Anthropic has since launched a successor, Claude Sonnet 4.6, which brings improved coding performance, expanded developer tools, enhanced API capabilities, and updated safety evaluations, signaling that teams evaluating Sonnet 4.5 today should weigh its proven stability against the newer generation's refinements.
