Nova 2 Lite (EU)

Amazon Nova 2 Lite is designed as a multimodal reasoning model aimed at practical, everyday workloads such as document processing, customer support, and general automation across text, image, video, and document inputs. A defining feature is its hybrid reasoning design, where an extended-thinking mode can be toggled on or off and tuned with low, medium, or high budgets, letting developers dial the balance between speed, depth of thought, and operating cost depending on the task. This flexibility makes the model approachable for both lightweight chat-style interactions and more deliberate analytical pipelines without switching systems.

Nova 2 Lite is positioned around long-context agentic workflows, offering a one-the cataloged API limit suited to large codebases, lengthy reports, and multi-document analysis. Built-in web grounding retrieves public information with citations, while an integrated code interpreter runs calculations in the same flow, reducing the need for external orchestration around the model. It supports step-by-step and mathematical reasoning, function calling, UI interaction tasks, and video understanding with temporal analysis, and covers more than 200 languages with optimization for 15 including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Hindi, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, and Hebrew, making it a broad, production-oriented choice for AI agents and business process automation.
